Laminate

Remarkably realistic and long-wearing

Benefits of Laminate

Laminate flooring is a durable, attractive and extremely versatile flooring option. With a surface that appears to be hardwood, there is actually no solid hardwood involved in the manufacturing of laminate flooring. Most laminate consists of a moisture resistant layer adhered to a layer of high density fiberboard. The plank is created under high pressure and then a photographic image of natural hardwood is attached to the top plank with a hard clear-coat made from cellulose resin that protects the laminate. And because the laminate process does not involve real hardwood, it is inexpensive and environmentally-friendly.

Laminate flooring is an excellent choice for anyone hoping to achieve that real hardwood look and feel without the cost of a true hardwood floor. It is also easier and quicker to install than hardwood.

Laminate flooring can be installed above and below grade and over any other flooring surface. Virtually all laminate floors install as floating floors. This means all the parts are attached to each other but none of them are attached to the subfloor.
